Can someone explain why London tech salaries aren't comparable to SF/NYC even tho the cost of living definitely is? I genuinely don't understand the rationale behind this
The CoL theory just doesn't hold up here at all, however, I still routinely hear making significantly less money than US devs especially early in their careers???
This is a genuine question and I'm trying to understand how employers get away with this very regularly on this side of the pond
Also been wondering if this is going to change with so many companies going remote and more and more people not wanting to move to the valley?
The main reason for so many people moving there is just pay. I wonder how things will change if we start paying people elsewhere better. It'd make SF less of a shit show too, I guess.
