There's longevity, and then there's John Grant Jr. He has been playing lacrosse at an insanely high level for a very long time. Let's have some fun and journey through the history books. I don't have time for a long form written piece, so here's a fun thread:
A year AFTER winning silver at the World Games with Canada, Junior graduated from Delaware in 1999.

This was the same year that Sega released the DreamCast, Exxon and Mobil merged, and Napster came out. Tennessee won the first BCS title (sup @CoachDuggs)
He was drafted 1st overall in the 1999 NLL draft by the Rochester Knighthawks. Other teams making draft picks: New York Saints, Albany Attack, and Pittsburgh CrossFire.

Elton Brand went 1st in the NBA draft.
The Browns took QB Tim Couch first.
OF Josh Hamilton went 1st to Tampa
In his first year as an NLL pro, 2000, Rochester lost a heartbreaker to Toronto for the title. Junior was Rookie of the Year. He had 77 points. His teammates included Chrome head coach Tim Soudan, Dan Teat (father of Jeff), Casey Powell, and former Riptide head coach Regy Thorpe.
21 year old Kobe Bryant won his first title in 2000

Tiger wins his first US Open

Marion Jones is female athlete of the year.

Vince Carter jumped over Frederic Weis at the Sydney Olympics. It was the summer before Vince's 3rd year

The first season of the MLL was a year away
In 2007, Junior accomplishes the ridiculous feat of being named MVP of the NLL, MLL, and the Mann Cup in the same year.

He set a single season points record in MLL (71). He had 111 points in the NLL season, best in the league, including a 15 POINT GAME.
Between 1998 and 2011, Junior played in the Indoor and Outdoor World Championships a total of seven times and the Heritage Cup twice.

He won five golds and four silvers and was named to the All World team in 2006 and 2010.
Matt Bocklet, President of the Outlaws, the team Junior now plays for, was drafted out of Hopkins in 2008. Junior was in his 9th season. Bocklet retired as a member of the Outlaws in 2017. Junior also retired in 2017. Then came back at age 44 and had a 39 point season for Denver.
Chris Aslanian, a Rookie of the Year finalist and Outlaw teammate of Junior, had 42 points in 2019. He is almost half Junior's age.

It's been over 20 years and he is ALWAYS impactful and productive. And now he's playing another year. Truly remarkable.
