TW: suicide........
You know you are really a designer when you become seriously passionate about the use of a color in UI (user interface).

I& #39;ve never really cared a ton about color in UI, and always felt a little like a bad designer because of it.
A kid committed suicide recently after seeing his negative 700K balance using a competitor of the company I work for. Its an industry standard to use red for negative balances and market downturns.
Red clearly being bad, you loose money. Green = good, you made money. The problem for me is that those colors illicit an emotional response.
The market goes up, it goes down, this we know and understand intellectually. The question I& #39;m wondering as someone who makes decisions around color
Is it reallyyyyyy necessary to tie the users emotions with that?
