Despite this being a situation which had been resolved last year in private around April 2019, I always felt that one day this could possibly become public knowledge. I would like to start off by saying the story against me is categorically FALSE.

If you are a genuinely sincere person, please at least hear my side of the story before making judgement, where I will detail EVERYTHING that happened.

Myself and Ardo were once good friends. In August 2018, I was at my friends house who lives 5 minutes away - I told her to come out and say hi, but I planned this to be a hi and bye thing.

My friend suggested she comes over to chill and watch Netflix, so I told her to come and she agreed.

We were chilling for an hour before my friend fell asleep. At this point we started getting close and started cuddling for around an hour. Prior to this day, Ardo had flirted with me multiple times, here is one example.

Based off of all this flirting and being close for over an hour, I decided to lean in for a kiss, which to this day is the biggest regret of my life. She turned her face away and pushed me away. It was clear that she wasn’t comfortable with this, so I left it IMMEDIATELY.

We carried on chilling for over an hour before she went home. I hugged her at the door, where she claims I groped her. I can say WALLAHI this did NOT happen. She got home and I texted to make sure she got home safe.

For months after this day, the energy was still the same when we spoke, and she even agreed to come to link ups that I invited her to with much enthusiasm, as you can see, and in fact she even attended the outing.

There was NO indication to suggest that my actions had made her uncomfortable. In fact, that day was never even mentioned again. Until around April 2019.

I had received a call from the girl she dm’d to ‘warn’ against me. Let’s call her X for anonymity. In that dm, Ardo messaged X asking if X hated me. X replied ‘why?’ to which Ardo replied ‘I’ve got tea sis hehe’.

She told her the same story she told the tl, after which X confronted me. I clarified what happened and called Ardo shortly after to find out why she was warning girls against me, as bearing in mind I had no idea she was uncomfortable and her claims about me abusing her are FALSE

She started off by labelling me a fucking predator and defended her story. Angry at being called a predator, because this is the exact opposite of what I am, I responded angrily trying to defend my name.

Her two best friends had been on the call the whole time but on mute. One of them jumped in anger, defending Ardo. I asked her to at least hear me out if she is sincere, which she did.

After telling my events of the story, she agreed that Ardo had exaggerated the story and made me out to look like an abuser when I did not deserve that label. I apologised for making Ardo feel uncomfortable for leaning in, as that is the last thing I would want to do to her.

Ardo also accepted that she had exaggerated the story. After this, I asked them if they addressed everything they wanted. They said that was everything. I asked if we can move on from this episode, and they agreed, Ardo included. I was thinking that that was the end of it.

Since that day, I have been friends with Ardo’s best friend. She had never mentioned the situation again, and I assumed that was truly the end of it, especially since the best friend of someone who labelled me an ‘abuser’ was fine with being my friend.

It was only until I recently tweeted that guys should call out their friends for sexual harassment that this resurfaced. I found that Ardo’s best friend had softblocked me, which confused me because we resolved everything last year.

It came to light that Ardo was still affected by the situation and still maintains that I groped her and leaned in twice for a kiss. Again, I swear by Allah that I only leaned in once l. I appreciate this made her feel uncomfortable however AGAIN I moved away immediately.

She claims that I gaslit her and tried to silence her - these are absolutely false claims. I have NEVER communicated with her since that call last year. In fact, she was still following me for months after until she suddenly soft blocked me.

I also have never tried to silence her. All I asked was that we can move on from this episode, as I thought it had been genuinely clarified and resolved.

Being falsely accused has affected me in many ways since last year, but I am not here to gain sympathy, I am merely here to clarify the truth. My intentions have never been to invalidate her feelings and I have never backed down from my story.

After all, if her two best friends could hear me out and see my side of the story, as well as agreeing that I do not deserve the label of being a predator, then I do not see why, you, the public cannot at least reserve judgement.

I appreciate that false accusations are incredibly rare - the trauma that arises and culture that we live in makes it incredibly hard for victims to come forward. However, I swear by Allah that I am telling the truth.

There is no way to 100% prove my innocence as no one was there except for myself and Ardo and my friend who was present, however he was sleeping in the same room, which is why I don’t expect you all to run to my defence either. But I hope the least you can do is hear me out.
