I've been told that Iraq's new govt is extremely angry about Turkey and Iran's military incursions in the north of the country. Iraq's new PM has asked the UAE for help to drive the Turks and Iranians out of his country. The UAE can't do that unless it establishes an FOB in Iraq.

Iraq's new govt will be given sweeteners by the US to abandon Iran and enter the Gulf's orbit, particularly the UAE's orbit. This will help keep Iraq's economy afloat. In return, the UAE will establish an FOB in Iraq's Anbar as an initiate step, followed by another in Kurdistan.

An Emirati FOB in Anbar will coincide with the foundations of a Sunni Arab autonomous region in west Iraq. The UAE will then move north into the Kurdistan Region. In Kurdistan it gets tricky because Barzani has good ties with the Turks, and this is where things get controversial.

The UAE has lowered its ties with the Barzanis in recent months, accusing them of being Turkish puppets. The UAE wants to drag Turkey into the mountain regions of Iraqi Kurdistan in order to exhaust the Turkish army. It will back Kurdish militants against the Turks in north Iraq.

The UAE's planning to escalate this in 2021. Its goal will be to transform Iraqi Kurdistan into a high-level conflict zone against the Turkish army in 2021. The UAE has sent a warning to Barzani last month that if he sides with Turkey, the Emiratis will make him flee to Ankara.

The UAE gave the Barzani family an ultimatum: Join the fight against Turkey, or we will destroy your entire family and allow your Kurdish rivals to take over Erbil and the rest of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

The UAE's strategy seems to be to suck Turkey into conflicts in western Libya and northern Iraq in order to drain Turkey's resources and exhaust the Turks. The UAE has handed over East Libya to Russia, and will hand over South Yemen to Russia as well, thereby securing its SOI.
