We& #39;ve been a fan of @Domhnallh @CiotogC for a while, so we were super-excited when they agreed to do the map for our game THE VOTE. It& #39;s been hard to keep this under our hat while we wait for something to show off, and now we do. Here& #39;s a snippet of the map (work in progress):
Not enough to whet your appetite? How& #39;s about a peek at the score track?
One of the first ideas I had for this project was to have a winding score track reminiscent of the didactic, moralistic roll-and-move board games of the late 19th/early 20th century. Donal delivered on this and then some, with just the right number of decorative elements to evoke
the feel of the period without evoking the "busy-ness" of those early games. The result is something that feels like something of the period, but is still unquestionably a modern, sleek design -- exactly why we wanted to work with Donal.
