Kanye West’s Yeezus - An Experimental Success. A Thread.
The album teaser - On May 1, 2013, West went onto Twitter and posted the cryptic tweet “June Eighteen", hinting towards the release date of his upcoming album.
SNL - Kanye appeared on the American late-night live television show, Saturday Night Live, and performed the songs New Slaves and Black Skinhead. Kanye then subsequently revealed the album's cover and title, Yeezus, on his official website.
Reception - The album was met with both fan and critical acclaim. Yeezus debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Charts, selling 327,000 units and receiving rave reviews.
Yeezus Tour - On September 6, 2013, Kanye announced The Yeezus Tour. The tour was marketed as his ‘first solo tour in 5 years’ and featured Kendrick Lamar as a support act.
The tour was nothing short of iconic, featuring insane set design and a setlist of some of his best songs to date. The tour sold out arenas all over North America, with a variety of special guests appearing at select shows.
As well as special guests such as Drake and Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West also got Jesus Christ as a special guest.

The Yeezus Tour was a visual spectacle and was both fan and critically acclaimed for it’s aesthetics, setlist of bangers, and Kanye’s fantastic performances.
Overall, the Yeezus era was iconic. It’s a staple in Kanye West’s legacy, and Yeezus itself is just one of many great album’s in the best Hip-Hop discography of all time - Kanye West’s.
