After Ahmaud Arbery was murdered, I spent those first few weeks in Bible passages that affirmed my righteous anger & compelled me to courageously confront injustice. 1/
These past few wks tho God has been nudging me to meditate on a diff set of passages. Passages that remind me that justice and Christlikeness are both commands. Passages that my heart has been STRUGGLING but striving to trust & obey. Maybe God has a word for you in these too...2/
1 Peter 2:23 "When he [Jesus] was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him [God the Father] who judges justly." 3/
1 Thessalonians 5:14-15 "And we urge you, brothers, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone." 4/
