How many of you know that the undivided Communist Party of India has supported the Jawaharlal Nehru led Indian Govt and not the Chinese Govt. in the 1962 Sino-Indian war. Surprised? Read the thread. Spread the word.

Even when the Chinese soldiers started patrolling the Indian border in 1961, November, the then General Secretary of undivided CPI, Ajoy Ghosh issued a press release condemnig the act, asking Chinese Govt not to repeat the act.
On 16 December 1961, General Secretary of the undivided CPI, Ajoy Ghosh responded in a presser that "if the Chinese did cross the McMahon line, then the CPI would support all the measures taken by the Gov of India".
Later, in the resolutions adopted by the National Council of undivided CPI, held at Hyderabad from 14-20 August 1962, appreciate Gov of India for their efforts to prevent worsening of the situation. It also calls on the patriotic citizens to support Gov of India in its efforts.
On 17 October 1962, when the border tensions intensified, the National Council of the undivided CPI issued another statement, supporting the efforts of Gov of India. 3 days later, on 20 October 1962, Chinese army crossed the border and entered Indian territory.
In the meeting of National Council held at New Delhi from 31 October to 2 November 1962, the undivided CPI appeals to all sections of Indian people to unite in defence of the motherland against the Chinese aggression.
However, despite all these support of the undivided CPI, Nehru resorted to arrest all the Communist leaders. This was an attempt to hide his government& #39;s diplomatic failure. The lapdog media started writing fictitious stories about CPI leaders collaborating with the Chinese.
Congress and then the RSS, has ever since repeating this fake story of Communist betrayal in the Sino-Indian war of 1962. The truth, however, is far from the reality. The undivided CPI took a position in favour of the interests of the people of India.
