/ THREAD: "Make sure you avoid public transport". This is #StreetspaceLDN the @Brent_Council way, compared with a few photo and video examples of what other boroughs have been doing https://twitter.com/Brent_Council/status/1272599908168671232
/ 44 seconds into the clip, @ShamaTatler says to "Make sure you avoid public transport". The message to cycle instead is indicated by the video showing someone cycling on the pavement by Wembley Triangle
/ If the clip could follow him cycling for 2 further seconds, u could see it leads to a narrow section with bus stop, so is not a viable cycle route. And cycling is not permitted there AFAIK
/ Some councils took action in earlier weeks of lockdown prior to 9th May order, such as this modal filter creating a Low Traffic Neighbourhood around Skew Bridge, Old Ford Rd, Tower Hamlets. Photo @RomanRoadLDN
/ Lewisham too were taking action early, such as with this modal filter creating a Low Traffic Neighbourhood. Photo @SophieMcGeevor

/ Meanwhile, Brent with amongst the worst figures in UK for covid deaths, pollution, diabetes, childhood obesity, the borough most dependent on public transport, is still working on its drawing board, before scheduling its 1st measure to enable people to travel by cycling
/ By saying "Make sure you avoid public transport" yet not enabling people to safely do so, @Brent_Council is endangering the lives of its residents and ignoring the 9th May @transportgovuk emergency mandate.
