How to make sure your #PersonalStatement stands out?

1. Make your passion clear.

Universities aren’t expecting you to demonstrate your interest across every aspect of the subject, so focus on one or two topics you’re passionate about and explore these in depth.

2. Reflect on wider reading and research.

Try not to simply list what you’ve done and what you've read, explain what you thought about it and how it informed your opinions.

3. Keep it personal.

Let your own voice and personality shine through and discuss your own experiences and interests.

4. Say things in your own words.

Your personal statement should sound like you, so use language you’re familiar with and try to avoid quotes.

5. Pay attention to the details.

Triple check for easy-to-miss mistakes such as spelling and grammar.
