sickle cell needs to be taught in schools. even doctors need to be taught it. sickle cell is not taken serious at all because of course, it’s only black people who suffer with it
I’m sure if it was mainly white people they probably would’ve found a cure by now and no one would be neglected in hospital when they have a crisis
btw I’m very aware that anyone can get sickle cells, but it mainly affects people African and Jamaican backgrounds, hence why I feel like it does not get taken seriously and doctors feel as though those who suffer with it exaggerate their pain and neglect them in hospital.
