So, all of these brands who have prominently featured people with black skin as the “face” of their products are now removing those people from their products. Isn’t making an African American the literal face of your entire brand empowering those communities?
How is removing a brand ambassador who happens to be black holding up the black community? Isn’t this backwards? Wouldn’t you WANT to showcase those people and doesn’t that make the opposite true? How is it racist to make a black person the face of your brand?
It seems to me that seeing race everywhere is the epitome of racism. I would’ve thought that it was a show of how far we’ve come that these brands have used different skin colors as ambassadors. It isn’t like people won’t buy the product because of the color of Uncle Bens, etc.
