COLLABORATIVE THREAD -- FF7R Translations from all around the world, how it's different from English. (You can expect much Cloti)

DISCLAIMER : Before starting, I would like to point out that I love English VAs and this thread aims to show the different translations you can have of one script of a game. It's all about the script, not about the actors. (1/2)

All the voice actors playing in the game are wonderful in their own way. We're talking about the script here and how the translations can change from a country to another. (2/2)

For anyone who got in touch with me so they can contribute, feel free to add below my tweets whatever you think would fit in the thread. I will be talking only about French script, but you can add any other language you feel like.

As you might know, SE French team is pretty close to the Japanese team and the French script of the game can be considered as one of the most accurate one, talking about the translation. That's why it can be interesting to study.

Next Aerti scene : when Tifa's overthinking in the sewers, Aerith comes to rescue and tells her there's no need to worry. (1/5)

English :
« How ‘bout this, then ? Think of something fun. After saving sector 7, you’re gonna… ? »
« I’m gonna… go shopping - topside ! I’ll buy… Stuff for the bar ! Decorations, coasters… »
« Can I come ? »

Time to cry bros... Jessie's death scene had a different translation too, regarding to Cloti. Cloud's being really attentive to Tifa's feelings, as always. (1/3)

English :
« Oh no.. Tifa’s crying. Did I say something wrong ? »

SOOOO. Let's begin with the first thing that I felt like pointing out : the scene with Marco. French translation is a bit different. When I first watched the sequence in English, I felt like Tifa was bothered at Cloud's behavior towards Marco, while she isn't in fact. (1/3)

English translation :
« What are you doing to Marco ? This is his apartment. He’s got a few problems, but he’s not a bad guy. The landlady asked me to check on him now and then to make sure he’s okay. Can I ask you to do the same ? »
« Sure… » (2/3)

French translation :
« I should have told you. Here’s Marco from appartment 203. He has been sick for a while now. I must check on him at times, the landlady asked me to do so. Maybe you could help me if you have time ? »
