I started beginning of May with my research about broilers. Nakhona it was by default because I was initially researching about crops. I ended up being interested in broilers, the chickens you grow for meat. I ended up learning that it takes about 5/6 for them to to fully grow
These groups helped me a lot because the most asked questions there are the ones beginners want to know when they want to start with poultry
I then Google and also asked here and on Facebook about the equipment, what exactly to get, for how many chicks and the food. @mdodana_amanda helped me a lot became I saw that she was not too far from where I am. She then adviced me to go to an ALZU near me.
That was another breakthrough, going there. Because they gave me all the information I needed in order to start. The equipment I need, the food, the medication and how to get the chicks (which was from them, they also supply)
I then went back to them a few days later because they had given me so many guidelines. I started by buying feeders and drinkers. And when I got paid I decided to take a lot from that and some of my savings to add more and what was left, which was the medication (vaccines)
And infrared lights

Just to add:
I was a bit stressed because I thought I needed a newly built house but when I was researching & I saw people& #39;s chicken houses I was like I can start mos so long with a zozo at home that we don& #39;t use. That& #39;s what pushed me to buy everything
Because there& #39;s a house so nothing is standing in the way. I& #39;ll just fix what needs robe fixed because the house should have enough ventilation and be able to be warm if needs be especially now in winter. I went bought everything and ordered chicks last week for today and went
To fetch them today. Well while I was researching I found out that the usual price they ask for 100 chicks is like R800, R850, 900 and when I posted on Facebook in a page from Piet Retiet I ended up finding a poultry farm from this side ngasekhaya. I was blown that they& #39;re R650
I was amazed by how social media has so much information. It just depends on the information you want. The more I invested to know more is the more, more people who are in this popped up. And I am grateful, still learning and ready. It& #39;s day 1 but I am so excited
Grateful because I was able to have amandla okuqala. My family has been amazing ans sizotshala futhi kakhulu like before. Because there& #39;s more to do
