cix’s comeback is dantes inferno basically confirmed and this a thread of all their punishments for ppl who didn’t read the poem

dantes inferno is an italian epic poem written by dante alighieri it’s about a man (dante) who has lost his path in life (gonna be honest the beginning is confusing as hell) and he meets virgil who leads dante through the gates of hell and the nine different circles

quick describtion of all the circles
first circle - limbo
second - lust
third - gluttony
fourth - greed
fifth - wrath
sixth - heresy
seventh - violence
eighth - fraud
ninth - betrayers

also idk how c9 is interrupting it cuz all the circles and the people in them have religious context and im pretty sure the story cix has isnt a religious one and yonghee theory is already false because of his teaser vid

bx - seventh circle (violence)
he was probs a delinquent getting into fights and he was burning property in the epilogue (another one of the sins) which would place him in the seventh circle FIRST RING where he spends his time boiling in a hot river

hyunsuk - sixth circle (heresy)
hes in a fiery tomb
im thinking he didnt believe yonghee or sumn this one is confusing cuz that circle is for ppl who don’t believe in god/an afterlife and the way dante is this could very well be a punishment for not believing his dad is coming

also i think hyunsuk’s is more complex because the sixth circle itself is complex because dante also considers those who have “ruined” the fabric of society or caused discord to it belong there which could mean hyunsuk could have ruined his family and this is his punishment IDK

seunghun - first circle (limbo)
his teaser doesn’t match any of the circle descriptions and hes just walking chained up so im thinking hes in limbo plus he hasn’t necessarily done anything bad but he didnt do anything GOOD which is why hes stuck in limbo

bae jinyoung - ninth circle LOL (betrayers) his teaser shows him chained up in the middle meaning he committed the worst sin out of all of them (betrayal). baejin is here because he betrayed the trust of yonghee and ultimately killed him

from what we’ve seen baejin has mistreated yonghee even though they’ve had a good relationship in the past so he could be seen as a traitor similar to cain killing abel who was his brother (baejin killed yonghee who was a close friend) cain was in the ninth circle as well

yonghee - seventh circle (violence) since he attempted to commit hes in the middle of the seventh circle wheres he becomes a tree and he cant speak unless hes broken and bleeding imo its the worst punishment

throughout dante’s inferno it has an underlying theme of humanity cuz none of these sins necessarily deserve these harsh punishments since its human behavior which is why most of us dont get why seunghun and hyunsuk are being punished when they havent done anything
