Juneteenth is tommora and I’m FINALLY accepting my roots. God gifted me with fast growing, thick, beautiful black hair. Ive been getting perms since before I could remember. I remember in 5th grade it was 27 inches! No cap.I’m 4’9& my hair was to my butt. TODAY IM CUTTING MY HAIR

For too long I’ve been tryna get it done. Tryna have my hair look like Marandas in the first tweet but that’s OVER WITH. Everybody hair is different. Is taken care of differently. My hair has been in knock knocks for almost 2 months & was reminded it might Matt up.

First time it was cut I was 19, pregnant and freshly married. I got a mom bob and loved it! But now I’m 21 and have gotten 3 perms since then. That’s not good. Last perm was April of 2019. I wanted somebody else to do the big chop for me but that’s got gonna happen. Wish me luck!

I’m gonna cut the braids half way down and go from there. Give it a good wash and HOPEFULLY I’ll be rocking a nice Afro for my first Juneteenth! Maybe a twist out. And EVEN BETTER NEWS my girl just came thru and said she’ll give me a protective style whenever I’m ready! God good!

I’ll keep this thread going as the process continues. My mom just told me to go to a salon so I don’t end up like the girls off tiktok but I’ve come to understand I’m black. My hair is gonna be pretty as long as I love it. Hubby doesnt seemed thrilled but he’s not helping it so
