In high school a friend slept w/ my recently ex boyfriend

The whole school found out & basically shamed her into moving

I still feel bad about it

She was 100% wrong, but at what point does piling on public shame for someone’s bad choice move past accountability & become abuse?

I think we should all be held accountable, but we also have to be willing to accept sincere apologies

I let an entire school shame a 16 year old girl so much so that she left our town and never moved back, and all to defend my “honor”

In doing so, I truly believe I lost mine

I will always be on the side of the marginalized.

I will always root for the underdog

Even if they put themselves there by their own poor choices

The mob is rarely holy ground
