One opinion today and it involves DACA recission. Chief Justice John Roberts has the opinion. It's a complicated one so we'll go through it in bits.

The decision by the Trump administration to rescind DACA is reviewable by the courts. And guess what? The Trump administration violated the law when it tried to rescind DACA

Excuse me while I take a second y'all I am legitimately stunned by this news. I was braced for the Court blessing the bad-faith attempts to go after the legal status of around 700,000 DREAMERS

This opinion lineup is wild.
Ginsburg, Breyer, and Kagan join with Roberts for the full opinion. Sotomayor joins for almost all of it except for Part IV. Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch and Kavanaugh concur in the judgment in part and dissent in part

Basically everyone had something to say about this case
This is a tremendous win there's no other way to categorize it!
It's gonna make Trump extra big mad too because the litigation was the product of Democratic Attorneys General, especially the AG Becerra from California

The majority says the decision to terminate DACA was not motivated by animus (basically racist motivations).

The tl;dr of this very complicated decision is that the Trump administration *can* rescind DACA if it wants but it has to follow the law when it does.

The fight over DACA isn't over but whew let's enjoy today
Is there time for the Trump administration to try again before November? That's an excellent question and the one thing I'll say is I wouldn't put it past this administration to try.
