Has it ever occurred to anybody else that the BH approach to trainee development has Montessori-like elements to it? (i. e. Freedom within limits, facilitating natural learning/discovery, an observational teaching model that emphasizes discovery of natural talents, etc.) @BTS_twt
The more I learn about the trainee process they followed, it seems as if the way they allowed the members of @BTS_twt (and still allow them) to pursue what they felt drawn toward & were naturally gifted in facilitated personal initiative, drive & development on an unusual level.
BH was obvs limited significantly by financial constraints at the beginning, & larger decisions were obvs made for @BTS_twt by leadership at the start, but in terms of their development & learning, much of it seems to have been self-steered & based on internal motivation.
The limitations BH faced at the start, combined w/this method of self-driven development, meant only a very specific type of individual could thrive in that environment. The result was an unsually self-motivated, highly-talented, internally-motivated team that became @BTS_twt.
Anyway, I am not claiming BH was inspired by Montessori, and I am very sure that there was pressure exerted during the training process that isn& #39;t consistent with it, LOL! But there are definitely elements of what they& #39;re doing even now that reflect those developmental ideals.
There have been many theories from people both within & outside of BH for why @BTS_twt has become so successful, but I really think a lot of it goes back to how they were recruited/trained - a process which identified 7 intensely self-motivated, team-oriented individuals.
I& #39;m just thinking out loud on the TL because @Crumbles4Kookie is busy and not responding to my messages this morning ROFLLLLLLL! Thank you for listening to my stream-of-consciousness rambling brain process.
