A lot of us noticed our skin worsening during the lockdown period. Here’s why, and how I managed to clear my breakouts. A THREAD:
1) lack of vitamin D. Vitamin D is activated by UVB from the sun. Without it, our skin’s cell growth, repair and metabolism is slowed down. I corrected this by short walks/jogs outside everyday
2) lack of sleep and stress. Staying up late for Twitter bants and Netflix definitely took its toll on my skin! It’s important to get 7-8 hours of sleep each night
3) Diet. Who else was guilty of stacking unhealthy “quarantine” snacks? A healthily balanced diet is important in maintaining healthy skin
4) Mental Health - even though I was never at a high risk of catching COVID, I was definitely anxious about it. I found that excercising and meditating helped
5) Dehydration. It’s so easy to forget to drink water during lockdown. The 2L rule still applies!
