Young Christians, express yourself with a full conviction of what you believe, with passion - but, do it with care & respect, with an aim to learn & grow. Many have gone before & have fought battles you are just encountering. They may have something to teach you and help you.
In thought, be clear rather than unfocused. In words, be articulate rather than vague. In motive, be pure rather than vindictive. In doctrine, be faithful rather than innovative. In research, be sincere rather than biased. In responses, be candid rather than malicious.
In controversy, be prayerful rather than self-justifying. In conduct, be exemplary rather than man-pleasing. In preaching, be irenic rather than condemning. In all things - in motive, thought, speech and deed, let your purpose be to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.
Let you public life be consistent with your private walk. Remember, your words aren't contained in speech alone, but also in writing. All shall be weighed by the Righteous Judge on that last Day. Brethren, the Christian walk becomes evident even by our social media interaction.
A keyboard and a screen is no excuse for misconduct and disrespect. As you would treat an older person in your congregation or in the family, aim so to do here.

Finally, take care not only about *how* you interact, but *with who* you interact.
You will find all manner of people on all social media platforms - accounts of men masquerading as women and vice versa, some are older on social media than in real life, some have certain ungodly goals, some come to seek controversy, some seek money, some seek fame...
...some seek validation, some seek an escape, some seek answers, some seek you! Be careful even as you are respectful. As the Lord Jesus Himself warned (a timeless wisdom), "Be wise as serpents, gentle as doves." No better advice could I give.
