[Thread] Le Job Interview - this is bugging me for 2 weeks already and even tho I said NO already, this HR manager still keeps on pestering me. Blocked her already tbh.

Someone from linkedin approached me and asked if i want to apply in their company as ecommerce specialist. I said yes and the HR who approached me booked me for an interview the day after.

Okay so day of the interview - it is scheduled at 1pm - the HR manager texted me around 10am and asked me to send my resume and portfolio to her email and I did. She told me then that she will forward me directly to the SALES manager. Meaning skip the HR interview na.

Anyway this is only a phone call interview. It was okay and the “sales manager” was asking me questions about work and some personal stuff. I narrated my situation rn this pandemic and medyo irita lang ako kasi habang nagkkwento ako, ang dami nya singit na follow up questions.

Then he asked me “why do you think you’re essential in this company”, I was narrating again my story when he said “I already know what you do but you havent answered my question.” Well okay he wants something straightforward so I said the basic shit that came to my mind-

I told him that I can do well under pressure. I mean it’s one of the best strategy that I learned from working in a retail industry and he said okay and he is impressed and he started asking my hobbies. Told him I do volunteer workad sometimes I read books. Tas he asked if who is

my fave author and yeah hanggang medyo personal na talaga - haha di ko na sasabihin kung ano. He apologized naman for being too intrusive. And then he shared his experiences din with the company and he slipped by saying “I am a consultant here” and that alarmed me kasi

The HR manager introduced him as Sales Manager. For what I know, magkaiba ang consultant and manager. This is the juicy part: he asked me how many months I’m willing to partake this “project” and I said - six months kasi ewan haha medyo nalito ako nung sinabi nya project.

When I said six months he then said na “that’s like hiring u na, we want to see people who are willing to stay for the long run.” And i’m like ediba kaya nga kayo naghihire? He explained me then na this project is launching of a new product and he’s looking for people who are

going to participate in the launching of this “project” through marketing efforts. Misleading diba? He fucking offered me one month internship for this project. A FUCKING INTERNSHIP? Nasaan na yung ECOMMERCE SPECIALIST na in-aaplyan ko?

That offended me tbh. Pero nung time na yun sobrang lutang ko and nagYes pa rin ako (haha tanga ko). So nung nagyes na ako he asked me to prepare a marketing campaign for this brand they’re launching pero ako na magpprovide ng details like I’ll make up the name, the brand,

the tagline and even the FUCKING VISUALS. And guess what he fucking asked me to present it the next day at 1pm. IMAGINE A FUCKING WHOLE MARKETING CAMPAIGN IN 24 HOURS AS A TEST FOR AN ECOMMERCE SPECIALIST?!?!

He even boasted na he also have several applicants working on different projects. That hit me. So you are using applicants to do a job that is solely for a Marketing Manager na or hence even for a Marketing Dept. A campaign plan takes MONTHS to do sis this is so wrong.

And you’re asking applicants to do it? For free? As a test of their skills? What kind of exploitation shit is this??? He even told me on the phone the fucking audacity - “Diba you can work under pressure? So dapat kaya mo gawin yung marketing campaign in 24 hours” U SHIT

So I asked my friends and told me to not to proceed with the process. I hope yung mga applicants na ginagawa pa rin yung “project” eh matauhan na at itigil na nila kasi not sure baka kunin pa ideas nila and di ba ang sketchy na pinapagawa ka na kaagad ng “real” marketing task

I emailed the HR who approached me and explained them why I’m quitting the hiring process - syempre professionally. See attached.

Si HR naman di nagreply sa email. Jusko sa FB messenger pa nagreply! Ka-stress! Sis just look at the grammar and teka lang akala ko ba Sales Manager kausap ko? Tas ngayon CEO na sya?? Ang bilis naman ma-promote or baka may identity crisis to?

Grabe talaga nagagawa ng pandemic sa mga companies ugh. If someone from Zenutrients approached you for a job please be wary na lang. If they asked you to do this “project” as a pre-requisite of your application then go decline. They are nuts for asking applicants to do a project.

Di na rin ako tinantanan ng HR. This is her last message before I blocked her.
Plus she greeted me yesterday sa viber wtf lol so ayun mega block na sila.
