THREAD: I’ve decided to run a campaign of sorts in response to @Twitter’s rollout of audio tweets without considering the needs of #deaf and hard of hearing people.

It’s called #TweetMeEqual. teitter

If you see an audio tweet which you can’t access, tweet it with #TweetMeEqual, tagging in @TwitterSupport and @TwitterA11y.

If you reply underneath this tweet, I’ll work to caption the audio for you. All audio tweets sent to me will be captioned and shared in this thread.

The aim is to show @Twitter how problematic this is, and why releasing the feature now, to make it accessible later, is completely unacceptable.
