Please help?!? In #acnh : if you want to send the same custom message (in a letter, not as a chat bubble) to more than one friend, do you HAVE to painstakingly type out the message by hand on the lil' in-game keyboard, again and again? Or is there *any* sort of shortcut?
Hey @Nintendo @NintendoAmerica @animalcrossing if you're listening for feedback? Taking note of ideas for what new features we most want to see included in future #AnimalCrossingNewHorizons updates and patches? Here's a few! (Thread to follow) #acnhMostWantedFeatures
1. Either change clams so that they can be stacked (at least a little! 10? 30? 50?), or give us the ability to craft more than one bag of fish bait at a time. Or both, if you're feeling generous! Crafting in bulk would be great in general, but clams are the worst offenders.
2. More construction (terraforming) options. I don't care how many miles they'd cost to unlock; I want to be able to alter the coast line, the river deltas, the border between beach and land, the big stone outcroppings... #acnhMostWantedFeatures
2.5 Could you please add a few more options to the list of things you can relocate? The pier, the secret beach where Redd docks, and (I know this is a lot) the main plaza itself- either separate from the Resident Services building, or as a whole unit, surprise me.
2.6 It'd be great if you could make changes to the airport (location, orientation, color/appearance) but I won't hold my breath.
3. I had really hoped that the landscaping function would allow for the instant sculpting of inclines (and bridges too, I suppose), to say nothing of more nuanced editing options like:
3.1 half-levels (could be hopped up like a big step)
3.2 gradients (like a really wide incline)
3.3 better ability to control/place diagonals and curves- the corner-cutting trick is nice, but leaves much to be desired.
3.4 inclines at a diagonal??
3.5 Half-tiles are a thing now. Sure would be nice if we could dig or terraform in half-tile increments, or with an offset.
(Admittedly, I don't think I ever *tried* to make a diagonal incline, just assumed it wasn't possible. Anyone out there ever tried it?) #acnh
4. More fruits! ACNL had bananas, lemons, lychee, mango, persimmons, & durian (and perfect fruit! I miss that!). ACNH has clothes featuring lemons, grapes, kiwis, watermelon, strawberry, & pineapple... but no actual counterparts to grow and eat. :( 🍋🍌🍍🍉🍇🍓🥝
5. Things to plant/grow/farm other than trees, shrubs and flowers. Where's my decorative grasses (that don't detract from island score like weeds do), my climbing ivy, the clovers?!? Where did the four-leaf clovers go :(
5.5 The shrubs add the interesting function of seasonal variability- sure, hardwoods can don a cloak of cherry-blossoms (ironically the cherry trees do not) or autumnal reds/oranges, but what if trees and flowers also responded to seasons differently, based on what type they are?
5.6 That being said, the category of shrubs leaves much to be desired. I know it's new, but we got what, 4? 5 types? With one or two colorways each? Please add more. And consider the addition of topiaries? Either as a ready-made object, or an action you perform on mature shrubs.
5.7 (This one is HUGE, I know) How about some non-fruit crops? I'm trying to build an homage to a well-known local fruit farm, but the lack of pumpkins and corn really makes it fall flat- if I try to make a corn-ma(i)ze as-is now, it'll be nothing more than designed simple panels
5.7cont- In the months preceding the release of #acnh many of us used Stardew Valley as a stand-in... the switch to Animal Crossing and the subsequent lack of crops to farm was jarring! It'd be kind of a "best of both worlds" to see the daily routine and pacing of AC...
5.7cont ...expanded upon to include more crops, and uses for them in crafting (ala Minecraft) or cooking (ala Stardew or BotW). What a dream that would be! I'm not yet sold on the Pokemon Sw/Sh expansions, but I would cough up for a farming-themed #acnh expansion in a HEARTBEAT.
6. Let 👏 the animals 👏 wear 👏 pants👏 (and shoes/socks)! I get why the headwear/accessories are limited, what with the variety of head/ear shapes. But it's fun seeing the squash/stretch of shirt textures on animal bodies; would be more fun if it happened with pants, too.
6.cont (plus when you give them as gifts, the recipients seem to love/appreciate a gift of pants/socks/shoes/bag despite their apparent and unexplained inability to use them. this makes me feel weird.)
7. The only time your nookphone functions as a phone is when you receive a call from Timmy (and that one time from Harv). It'd be cool to have calls with villagers. Could be as simple a feature as the megaphone in ACNL. Could be more.
7.1 Outgoing calls could serve as a rudimentary status-check. Scripting for the villager's current location (home, visiting, shopping, museum, outside) and if applicable, current activity (crafting, relaxing, choir practice, talking to someone, yoga, fishing, watering flowers)
7.2 Incoming calls (if done with a well-balanced periodic occurrence- not so often it becomes annoying) would add depth and life to the characters. They could be request prompts, reaction lessons, personal questions, or even just a "thinking of you" like the letters.
(Side note: What happened to the times when villagers would come over to your house? I remember they'd set appointments, not sure if they ever asked to follow you there simultaneously... but I miss those visits. They always gave me a sense of reciprocity.)
8. More exterior wall-mounted items. The doorplates/wreaths are great and I love them all. I also have my eye on Harvey's rainbow wind-spinner, dangling from the front of his house. I would love to be able to decorate the sides/roof of my house with a flag, garland lights, etc...
8.5 Especially with how the exterior customization options compare between acnl and acnh - You used to be able to make your house a cool castle, mansion, etc. Now you can pretty much only change the surface textures. Could we get frameworks back, please?
(Additional side-note: did anyone else feel like the size/dimensions of the maxed-out rooms get drastically smaller/worse from acnl to acnh? What's up with that? If anything, I'd've expected them to be *bigger*...)
9. Bringing it back around to what started this thread, we need some added functionality to the messaging systems in game. My proposed solution: an email app on your nookphone. You can't attach gifts, but you can CC additional recipients. Maybe use templates. Show your outbox.
