I have a hot take now that Beethoven supposedly being black is trending:
It doesn& #39;t fucking matter if he was or not, & you should promote actual living black composers instead.
Additionally you& #39;re just helping places like the Met continue to basically never play anything by them.
Like seriously, just only playing stuff by long-dead composers does shitall to help living ones, & there& #39;s some damn AWESOME living black classical composers, like Omar Thomas, Anthony Braxton, Shelley Washington, Sydney Guillaume, Valerie Coleman, Adolphus Hailstork, &even more!
(I& #39;m pretty sure this is the part where I should promote something like http://www.musicbyblackcomposers.org"> http://www.musicbyblackcomposers.org  & encourage y& #39;all to support local live music. Plus also note that almost no one will see this because it& #39;s late.)
ALSO listen to actual black classical musicians on this more than me!
Also I saw a tweet that added a point I didn& #39;t think of when making this thread so here have a second thread that& #39;s not by me on this: https://twitter.com/pwallinga/status/1273521835431260165?s=19">https://twitter.com/pwallinga...
