#hey vs #superhuman

A 🧵 on the unstated difference...
Forget email for a minute;
Imagine that you're sitting at a real desk, with 10 'real' envelopes in front of you.

Some of them:
• need action,
• are cool to read later,
• you should keep handy temporarily,
• etc.

No points for finding the do-doing-done pattern here.
Most people would take Approach-A:

• Glance at each,
• Make 3 or four piles [do,doing,done,etc],
• Get through each pile at different speeds and focus.
Then there's the Approach-B

• Stack those in the order of when they came in,
• Deal with the first,
• Then the next,
• And so on.
If we weren't talking about email, Approach-B wouldn't exist.

You wouldn't start reading a newsletter by @david_perell before responding to your accountant!

If you're reading this thread, you obviously know which one is Approach-A, and which is Approach-B.
Not dissing any of the great people at either camp, but you've got to be a @dhh / @jasonfried level badass to have @jason ask for an invite of your product publicly, when he's among the earliest and most vocal investors of the competitor.
Be somewhat hey-er without http://hey.com ?
• Make three or four top-level folders
➥{do, doing, done} OR to in hey's terminology
➥{reply later, set aside, paper trail, the feed}

• Train your muscle memory to quickly locate the person blocker in Gmail
