I honestly think Mikel Arteta is the right man for Arsenal Football Club. He has the right attitude, the right values and is a superb coach. However he can only work with what he’s got. Arsenal have been a club in decline for many years and the players employed over that time
have had the wrong attitude with a weak and losing mentality which has seeped into the whole fabric of the club. Arteta knows this only too well as a former player & desperately wants to change that. But there are many factors that stand in his way. A lot of which he’s inherited
from his predecessors Arsene Wenger and Uni Emery. Along with Ivan Gazidis. Ozil is a massive problem. A player handed the biggest contract in the history of the club who quite frankly has been the biggest waste of money in the history of our great club. People say that on his
day he’s magnificent but how many times is it his day. As Arteta said “He doesn’t want to hear on our day we can beat anybody. He wants it to be our day every day” and we all know Özil needs moved on for the good of the club. But Ozil isn’t alone most of the older senior players
also need to be shifted. Luiz, Sokratis, Kolalsinac, Xhaka and Lacazette as well. Along with one or two of the younger players as well such as Holding or Chambers and maybe even Guendouzi if the right offer comes in for him. This will generate some money and save on the wage bill
I’m also really concerned about Raul Sanllehi and his role at the club is he the right man for us. Because it seems to me that the players he signs are more for the super agents benifit than for Arsenal Football Club. I don’t want my club to be a dumping ground for agents
who want to solve their problem of finding a new home for their expensive underperforming, overpaid players. But the biggest problem of all at The Arsenal remains the owners. We can move on players and generate a bit of cash that way but the Kroenke’s have to step up and make
a serious investment into the playing squad. It is under their watch we have declined. Ever since they’ve been the majority shareholders. They are the ones who’s allowed us to get into this state and it’s on them to get us out of it. They’ve had all the benifits of buying the
club at a criminally undervalued price by an inept board & seen their investment more than double. They’ve hidden behind Arsene Wenger and let him take the brunt of the fans wrath. Then sat on their hands refusing to invest money when Usmanov suggested a “Special Rights Issue”
when the club despatrately needed to strengthen the playing squad. Now they are hiding behind FFP. There are ways around it. Other clubs do it and Newcastle the latest oil rich owners will find a way round it. In fact there is talk that the rules will be relaxed this summer due
to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic. So there is no hiding place now it is Stan and Josh Kroenke’s mess and their responsibility to sort it out. No more of these glib comments like “be excited” which mean nothing. Let’s see them invest some proper money of their
own very deep pockets to help Mikel get the club back to where we belong at the pinnacle of the English game.
