IMHO, no reporter, news channel, no camera person should have access to a war zone or place of strategic importance, except maybe Doordarshan.
We do not need another Darkha Butt who'll cost us bunkers and bravehearts and then be lauded by common people who think of them as heroes
The Army personnel get compromised un such situations because they have ti then tend and protect these reporters too. They become a liability, rather than as asset. We all saw how 26/11 played out, by representative images and reconstruction of the hotel passages,
We eventually helped the enemy. Also, today's news channel are all about sensationalism, do we really need to go in a panic mode, thinking that a war will happen? When, actually nothing is happening? Something as crucial as Defence, strategic positions and artillery strength
Should not be covered. What are we trying to prove? We do know people who questioned us will question us always? People who stood by us will stand by us. But hy showcasing these things out in the open you are giving away sensitive information. Which harms us in the long run.
We should rely on good old print and trusted sources like the Army spokesperson and the ministry spokesperson. When and how they choose us to give the information. Times are tough and every moment we spend questioning the what and why ,we question the valour of our forces.
Let's not put their life at risk by sending reporters and news channel teams out their. Let's put restrictions and trust our forces to do what they are best at.
