People are posting short clips of Rayshard Brooks taking a breathalyzer or chatting with the officers during their investigation, but what they don’t clip is when they officers attempt to place cuffs on Rayshard, and he then proceeds to resist. Here’s a thread because I’m fed up.
When Rayshard attempted to resist, the officers tackled him to subdue him, but he managed to escape and even take one of the officer’s tasers. Whether or not he had the intent to harm anyone else or the officers, he was still in possession of a weapon that he had stolen.
The officers discharged their firearms after Rayshard refused to back down. It’s never good when the situation comes to this but this is the reality of it. He was a threat to the officers lives and the public. There’s a video of the body cam footage that I suggest you watch.
The act was not racist as the officers treated Rayshard very kindly. The fact that Garrett Rolfe was charged for this is abysmal. This was just to appease the massive amount of scum who whine “Racist” whenever it happens to be a white officer on scene. It’s honestly disgusting.
Please note that I’m not excusing the actions of every officer. There are definitely police who abuse their power whether the motive is race or sex or what not. This incident specifically is not an example of police abuse or racism. I’ll link the cam footage now.
George Floyd’s death was what sparked this whole movement and controversy of defunding the police or even removing them entirely. I believe Floyd’s death was not an act of racial abuse, only because there was no evidence to say it was. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t any less wrong.
All police are not racist. That’s what I believe because I don’t accuse people of actions they haven’t committed. These officers acted accordingly, and to say otherwise is irrational. Without the police, no one would protect you. I hope it never comes to that. I can only hope.
Please research into the topic before you go ahead and say something controversial. I always thought George Floyd’s death was an act of racism until I watched the clip. I still despise those officers with a burning passion. I believe in justice, but this is abusing the system.
The fact that the Atlanta police refuse to serve shows that they disagree with the injustice the was placed upon Garrett Rolfe. Instead of attacking the force and proving them right, maybe learn from this. They recieve a lot of shit from the people they took an oath to protect.
I’m gonna end with this. I think equality is important and there still is discrimination in our society. But this is not how you solve it. You don’t attack those who serve to protect you. You also don’t burn your cities down. #Atlantapolice #BackTheBlue
