Like. People will deadass talk about the appearance of a woman who MURDERED HER CHILDREN like it factors into her actions somehow. Y’all will shit all over a trans women for not “passing” before recognizing the cultural impact of work she’s done.

People are more interested in using appearance to invalidate the identities of AFAB femme non-binary people (including myself) who don’t appear androgynous or masc, than in acknowledging or addressing systemic racism taking place in our country right in front of our faces.

News sites and celebrities have even decided that reporting on Kellyanne Conway’s appearance is somehow a better story than covering protests, calling for the arrest of Breonna Taylor’s murderers, or ADDRESSING THE GARBAGE ADMINISTRATION SHE WORKS FOR. What the absolute fuck.

And if this thread bothers or offends you, then maybe you should think long and hard about why it does. Perhaps you’re part of the problem.
