No matter what your opinion is on the Jamal Adams drama, you’re lying to yourself if you say the team can move on from him no big deal. Here’s a thread of 33 changing plays singlehandedly.
Good defenses stop the run, and this is an area Jamal changes the #Jets. Takes on the tight end with ease and plugs this stretch by himself.
More run dominance. Here, Jamal is responsible for Witten. The Cowboys know that, so they move Witten at the snap of the ball hoping to clear the #Jets defense’s most dangerous player. Jamal doesn’t bite, splits the gap, and blows this play up.
He added pass rushing as another elite skill this year, I believe Gregg Williams will only expand on that with the additions to the #Jets secondary. Here’s an example of how a smart blitz can create an easy turnover.
The Giants game solidified his superstar status. Saquon struggled all game staying in front of Jamal. We all know the snatch and score, here’s a play right after it. That burst is rare, his timing is excellent. Another dominant, drive ending rep.
Looks like a cover 1 call. Man to man everywhere with Maye helping over the middle. Dak is looking for a big body with Cooper out. 33 originally disguised on Witten. Ball snapped, Maye takes Witten from Adams and gets in perfect position. Jamal comes free, that’s game.
Why do I think Jamal is the best in the business? We know what he can do around the LOS, but watch how refined his coverage is. In his 2nd and 3rd years he made huge strides through film study and great instinctive play.
Notice the OL’s stance in the first pic. Next play, Giants show run heavy formation looking to bait Adams, but the OL’s stance is different (lighter) Jamal reads him pre-snap. Giants draw up their TE to release and leak out backside untouched. DJ sees 33 sniff it out, play ruined
Boring play, but the Giants did all of that to get Adams into his Swiss Army knife mode and bail on the TE. Would be an easy pitch and catch for DJ, and a probable 15-20 yard run after catch. Small IQ read from Adams shuts the whole play down.
Zone coverage in NE. Jamal reads Brady’s eyes and his closing speed is unreal. Strong hit on Gronk jars it loose. Not many NFL players are capable of making this play. #Jets
More Gronk vs Mal. Year 2 for Jamal was much different than year 1. Picture perfect man coverage against Gronk in the red zone. Thought he was just a run stuffer? He can do it all at a high level. Special player.

Hope everything works out and Pres stays in green. Bottom line - he’s the best in the business and when you lay your body on the line for a losing team, you want your guarenteed money. 3 yrs left, makes sense why jets are hesitant to extend. Both sides have valid arguments. #Jets
