Alia's collected the questions she's received alongside stories from survivors of sexual assault & harassment & is asking for help compiling resources. This work is easier when it's collective. I'm going to thread below the information I already know of & invite others to add! https://twitter.com/uu1iu/status/1273457283683332097
WAO comes up a lot because a) they do good work on this front b) we are sadly underresourced as a country when it comes to dealing with sexual harassment / abuse assault https://twitter.com/womensaidorg/status/1273172948631896070
. @AWAMMalaysia has a helpline if you want to know more about your legal options when it comes to sexual harassment + other resources on their website https://bit.ly/3fwN6or
. @cempaka_co is a great local voice on many issues and stocks zines including those on accountability and consent https://bit.ly/30RcxwH  They're digitally accessible if you become their patron https://twitter.com/cempaka_co/status/1256829645263159296
The Learning Good Consent zine was one we always talked highly about during Biawak Gemok days! It's available for free online https://bit.ly/3hzVXrn  (just Googling Learning Good Consent zine gets you multiple sites to read it)
I invite anyone reading thru this thread, who wants to help, who wants to make something concrete that could help Msian survivors of sexual violence, to take the baton & run with it.

Buddy up with friends, plan a time to read through something together, translate, make graphix
Start a public Google drive or Dropbox folder so people can add resources. Then think about who can take the step of compiling all this on a Linktree or Carrd. I have to emphasize again TRANSLATION work is crucial. Can you take a small resource & translate it to Malay etc?

Does anyone have any other shareable resources re: Malaysian mental health support (yet another underresourced field in our country), especially any focused on survivors of abuse / trauma / sexual harassment or assault? https://twitter.com/mindakami/status/1250802530264551424

Joint Action Group for Gender Equality (JAG) has been pushing for a Sexual Harassment Act for Malaysia for DECADES. now JAG + Young Women Making Change + National Council of Women’s Organisations is pushing our govt to table the bill. here's a primer: https://bit.ly/2USfVE0
JAG + YWMC + NCWO did an interview on the Sexual Harassment Bill here https://bit.ly/3efWE6Q  if you prefer the resource in video form!

one of the questions alia has received a lot is, why don't you or these survivors just report their story to the police? here's a thread of a personal experience that highlights what going to the police about sexual assault actually looks like https://twitter.com/mymanamana/status/1270188995566161920
