theory: i think the entire bellamy scene was staged.

now, last time we saw bellamy, he was crying his eyes out because he believed his sister died in arms. he thought she was dead. so why is it that when bellamy sees octavia alive and well, he’s not phased AT ALL?

his mission was to get his sister right from the second we saw him. he wasn’t surprised to see her alive and well, he was just fine, only worried about saving her. you would think there would be some type of initial shock or confusion, but there was none.

i believe that anders set that whole thing up, and the only people unaware of what was happening were levitt and octavia. levitt had started to lose their trust, and, well, it was all a set up FOR octavia so they could get the information they needed about clarke.

they pretended to kill her brother to break her completely, which would mean that she wouldn’t fight them when she was put under M-CAP, instead she would sit there, hollow, not caring because her brother, the person she already proved she cared for the most, was dead.

this plan clearly had a set back due to them not having levitt on their side, and him giving octavia the tip on how to not give them access to her memories, which anders clearly didn’t predict because he still believed that levitt was still at least LOYAL to the cause.

i believe that bellamy is already void!bellamy. due to the fragile state they captured him in, he would’ve given into the disciples very easily. they weren’t going to use bellamy to “break” octavia, but her almost escape made them rethink their original plan.

this part is more of a stretch, but i do think that octavia mentioning clarke caused a confusion in bellamy. he genuinely looked more concerned than he did before. clarke, regardless if you ship bellarke or not, is someone VERY important to bellamy. her “death” in s6 proved that.

clarke is going to be a part of what bring bellamy back. she causes a crack in the brainwashing he’s under. if you’re wondering, why didn’t octavia have that effect? well, because they planned for that. octavia was a predictable trigger; clarke was not.

with octavia and bellamy, it’s clear how much they love and care for each other, so it was easy for them to instill measures that would prevent her from changing him back. they probably instilled the same measure with echo, because she is who he outwardly loves.

they didn’t expect clarke to be a factor simply because they didn’t look for it hard enough. whatever bellamy feels for clarke, he has buried deep into him. in their eyes, clarke is just someone he’s close with, but i bet they underestimated the magnitude of their relationship.

anyways, bellamy is alive obviously because void!bellamy was obviously aware of the plan, so he jumped through the anomaly. they probably ended up sending someone right behind him to collect him, and bring him back.

now that they believe octavia is “broken”, they won’t need to hide that bellamy is one of theirs; this is where shaven void!bellamy comes in. he will blindly follow whatever they say because he’s brainwashed, it will be a part of whatever clarke’s purpose is.

i would like to add some revisions so no one is confused on some of the holes in this!

– the original plan: i believe after seeing bell in octavia’s memory, they were going to take bellamy and put him through M-CAP, just like they did with octavia. i think after realizing what a good asset he would be, they decided to brainwash him further and make him a disciple.

– the rings: i think that the rings are another sign of him being under their control. there is no real way that was bob’s ring. plus, anders wears one as well. there is a very big possibility that some disciples have to wear rings on their left hand.

– the timing: yes i know the timing is weird, which is why i don’t think they finished brainwashing him. they were in the process (and close to finished). octavia’s escape caused them to rethink their plan, and used him to stop her from resisting further.

i will be rewatching soon and looking for clues to further my theory!
