When the Provincial election occurred last year, politicians promised the make the "average Albertans" lives better, and who doesn't want a better life? Jobs, economy, more investment in the province, getting back to Alberta Advantage, that was the platform. /1
Today we get the Fair Deal, with out of reach recommendations that do not reflect the "average Albertans" desire for a better live, for a job that pays a living wage, a family doctor in your community, an adequately funded public school, and province that looks to the future./2
This Fair Deal is costly and the consequences that will occur down the road years from now will cost the average Albertan more than they bargained for. We cannot let this distract us from fact many in our province are struggling right now with the many impacts of COVID 19. /3
The average Albertans I know (and consider myself one of them) want a government that focuses on the things that matter most to us right now, good jobs, schools, and health care. Chasing the ideological recommendations of the New Deal is a flight of fancy we cannot afford. /4
