My favorite thing ever is when people say that college brainwashes you into being liberal. It’s almost as if....education...gives you perspective you otherwise wouldn’t have...and teaches you to think in different ways...and see things from other people’s shoes???

I also want to add that a few people have brought forward some experiences with professors who fail you if you disagree or won’t let you speak out if it isn’t in agreement with them. I think that’s totally wrong no matter what side of the political spectrum you’re on.
In general, our country is horrible at listening to each other. Let’s not forget that listening does not mean agreeing with or condoning!!!!! We need to do better at being able to have conversations with people who disagree with us, and explaining our side of things.
However, some people can’t be taught, reasoned with, or patient enough to listen. These professors are not in the majority of higher education. And for those of you who have experienced them, did they influence your views?
Did you come out of college a liberal left winger, or conservative republican? The chances are, since you’re bringing attention to them, you didn’t. Which proves the point my original tweet makes: college does not brainwash you.
