I’m optimistic that fintech can help alleviate the worst symptoms of poverty but it’s fucking hard

people who don’t have money are both hard to reach and... don’t have money. it’s great you quit goldman to do this but ppl are understandably skeptical
the financial education types are the best/worst. remind me of 3rd world development types. applaud the intent but a gamified savings app is not going to solve the fact that someone is making $8/hr
fintech product managers and designers making 6 figures in SF telling poor people that they need to save is basically the “buy fewer lattes, millenials” of tech
then there’s the “$25/mo subscription to a potential loan” startups that are a clever-ish way to get around usury laws until a deputy state AG gets bored.

there’s psych safety value to the customer but damn that’s a payday-tier APR
