I am so fucking sick of people hyperfocusing on their weight gain during covid.

Don't get me wrong, I get it. Purity culture and we all want to feel in control. Okay sure.

YOU KNOW WHEN IS A CONCRETELY GREAT TIME TO HAVE EXTRA FAT AND WEIGHT ON YOU

WHEN YOU ARE ILL
LIKE
FUCK
Stop focusing on your pre-covid weight for fuck's sake.

Of course you are, loves. I get it. You want things to be OK and back how they were. You want control. Of course, loves. We all do.

You can't.

Things have changed.
You, none of us, get to just Go Back.
This is a corollary, if not parallel form, of the idea that you just "get over" grief.

You don't. Ever.
You grow, and change, and shape, and move forward.

I know this sucks. I'm sorry. For a lot of you, this is a first, to have a Thing Happen, and you can't go back.

I'm sorry.
Focusing on your weight won't fix it.

You're clinging, of course you are, loves, especially if this is your first Break, of course you are, we all did, and I just want to help and show you --

and you just cannot go back, and trying to makes it so, so, so much worse.
You don't get to go back, there is no "back". It's gone, and I'm sorry, I know how hard this is. I really, truly do.

Please be kind to yourselves, right now, and as we keep plodding on.

If that means donuts, okay, have donuts. If that means you want to go running, please run.
If you are exercising or making changes to feel better, then ROCK ON, and I support you 100%.

If you are doing these things in the hopes of just Being The Same You You Were, I'm so sorry, and we're all here with you, but you need to face forward.
