So, at my appointment with my doctor today, they told me that many cancer surgeries are being pushed back 3-4 months because of the number of general Covid cases.
When you choose not to wear a mask, it’s not just about whether you’ll get sick. (Maybe you’ll get lucky and you’ll be fine! Or maybe your blood will turn as thick as syrup, your skin will tighten, and you’ll get permanent heart, kidney, and lung damage. As a 20 year old.)
But either way, you’re affecting others. And not just with Covid. It’s about the ripple effects, too.
Cancer patients can’t get treatment because you’re spreading the virus.
Surgeries are being postponed and people are suffering — and they’re not being counted as “corona deaths.”
Wear a fucking mask or you’re committing manslaughter. That’s it. That’s how it is.
Who gives a shit about your feelings. Who fucking cares if you don’t like the way it makes you look or feel. Fuck that. Wear a mask and save lives.
Maybe even your own.
(For clarity's sake b/c of my replies: I had cancer in 2019 and was fortunate enough to get a double mastectomy before coronavirus. My doctor today was relaying that other women are not able to get the surgery because of coronavirus.)
