In 1970, Grand Ayat. Sayed al-Khoei called upon scholars in Iran to rise against their government and show believers their duties towards Islam and their nation. But of course, Western media will not tell you this. May God punish those who attempt to secularize our scholars.
On the contrary, you will even hear the opposite from the suspicious turbans who speak for the new Westernized Islam and travel from community to community lying to believers and encouraging them to follow a conceptualization of Shi& #39;a Islam without politics or resistance.
Counting on the fact that most believers in the West do not read Arabic well enough to review the literature on the subject, they will go around telling believers that wilāyat al-faqīh is just a theory of governance founded by Imam Khomeini, or that Najafi scholars reject it.
And while some cannot be fooled, many believers in the West are typically delighted to hear that it is possible to be a Shi& #39;a Muslim and remain politically idle. They are pleased to learn that there is an Islamic vision that is [supposedly] apolitical. Less hardship, why not?!
You mean to tell us we can claim to be believers but ignore the duty of implementing Islamic laws? We can insult Sunni religious symbols without worrying about Islamic unity? We can say we stand for justice but remain silent towards Palestine, Iraq, Yemen, etc.? How convenient!
Here is a convenient quote.. At the time, Sayed al-Khoei was asked why he attacks the Iranian government, which claims to be Muslim. The Sayed replied: "Islam is not just fasting, praying, etc. [..] it is: beliefs and actions that must be in full harmony with each another!"
