Yesterday, I pointed out that it has been more than seven weeks since we have had a White House coronavirus task force press briefing. The last one was April 27th. (1/5)
Since that time, the number of people infected grew from just under a million to more than TWO million. Sadly, the number of people who have died grew from around 50,000 to almost 118,000. (2/5)
Now, a source close to the task force has told CNN that a “Doctors’ Group” has banded together as an offshoot of the WH task force. The group includes Dr. Deborah Birx, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Dr. Stephen Hahn and Dr. Robert Redfield. (3/5)
The source says this group has been meeting two to three times a week by phone, and typically briefing the Vice President once a week. One of those briefings is happening right now. (4/5)
The “Doctors’ Group” plans to address the issue of increased infection rates in many states, raise their concerns and offer their suggestions about the best path forward. (5/5)
