THREAD - Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman gave one of their notorious press conferences today, where they yet again accused a public figure of a terrible crime, this time @JoeNBC. The accuser was Mark Hoffman, but there was something wrong with "Mark".

Mark couldn't attend the Wohl-Burkman press event in person, and had some technical issues that meant he wasn't able to appear on video as promised, only audio. After examining his Twitter account it became clear this wasn't an accident.
Bellingcat's @arictoler noticed a few problem with Mark Hoffman's face, clear signs it had been generated by http://thispersondoesnotexist.com , a website for making fake faces from scratch https://twitter.com/AricToler/status/1273313281487273997
Aric also noted that Kurt Schlichter had quote tweeted the account back in 2019, but with the account suspended there was no way to see what the tweet was.

However, it was possible to find a Google Cached version of @KurtSchlichter's tweet, and interestingly the account it was quoting had a different name, @NewYorkTimesBen.

This happens when someone changes their account handle, like when they're trying to hide something, so at some point @JoeNBC's accuser @MarkHoffmanDC had an account name of @NewYorkTimesBen, and that had also been Google Cached https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:rgZi6CB-uNcJ:https://twitter.com/newyorktimesben%3Flang%3Dbg+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=se
But what did this mysterious @NewYorkTimesBen look like? Unfortunately his picture wasn't saved in Google Cache but http://Archive.org  had a copy, and it was another image from http://thispersondoesnotexist.com  https://web.archive.org/web/20200107141021/https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/1214363603609907202/gEfaE3go_400x400.jpg
Then @konrad_it came up with the idea of Googling for the Twitter ID of the tweet quoted by Kurt Schlichter, and that appeared on an old post on Hillaryis44, with *another* Twitter handle

And who or what is DizengoffLTD? Well @kyleehmke of @ThreatConnect, back in July 2019, had linked it to, that's right, Jacob Wohl! https://twitter.com/kyleehmke/status/1155693049307181056
To add to the weirdness @konrad_it found another handle linked to the same tweet just as I was doing this thread.
