Ok WOW I’m in love w the direction Neil is going in - main charas I’m always critical of bc they tend to take on a RPG no-personality trope and their role is just to react to circumstances rather than have their own thoughts

But I really really dig the struggle Neil is going through (side note: all the names in this book suck and I wish we got smth more iconic YKNO) - and when he gravitates towards hints of HOPE my heart just oooofff boy

I’ve always imagined Jason (mainly when he’s younger but metaphorically it still applies to his adulthood) who is untrusting of new (especially loving) environments so he sets up “runaway” kits near reliable emergency exits in case he feels the need to leave

TLDR I’m a sucker for it and im Living For This. Surprisingly im more invested in Neil than Andrew at the moment, but Andrew’s moments where he gets kinda... SOFT on Neil sends me - it kills me

I just hope the author successfully bridges “demon Andrew” vs “soft Andrew” with enough justification & finesse that doesn’t read like a convenient moe gap. im really really looking forward to it

Im also in love w MCs that admit they’re jealous or envying of someone else parallel to them & yet has it better than them (COUGH jason toward dick) - I think this is such an underplayed way to build satisfying character development

I’m only in the first few chapters of the raven king so please don’t spoil me if there’s more to it- but can someone explain to me:

2. What does it aim to suppress
3. drugged vs not drugged Andrew which is more dangerous?
