Forget Me Not #kacchakothread
A #kacchako AU

It's been years since Bakugou Katsuki last saw Uraraka Ochako. With the last time being horribly unpleasant, he is stunned when she claims to have amnesia and not remember him and everything that ever happened between them.
Except, not really. Seeing this as fate giving him a second chance in life, he tries his best to win her for the second time, even if it meant convincing her to fall in love with him all over again.

He had absolutely no idea how they got there, and yet, here they were.

It might not look like it, given the strong personality he gave off on a regular basis, partnered with his immaculate resting bitch face as the extras would call it,
but Bakugou Katsuki considered grocery shopping his own personal choice of therapy.

His old man always took him on his weekly trips when he was a kid, and from a young age, he has appreciated the joy and wonder of browsing through various products and brands.
That was probably why he was much closer to his old man. Contrary to popular belief, just because he looked like the exact copy of the hag doesn’t mean they were similar in a lot of aspects.

Unfortunately, as he grew older, their father and son bonding time decreased,
but that didn’t mean he enjoyed the activity any less. If he were being honest, he even enjoyed it more nowadays. His job as a professional chef made sure that he would be going at least once a week to hunt for the best and latest ingredients - ones that he picked out himself -
just so he can experiment and practice his chosen craft at home.

But other than the aforementioned reasons, he simply enjoyed the peace and tranquility the said task brought him. In the store of his choice, he was calm and collected.
Whenever he got stressed out, which was quite often, he would go to the nearest store and just have a look around.

Grocery shopping was his Me Time.
That was his main reason for wanting to kill the extras right here, right now.

He was 𝘱𝘭𝘳đ˜Șđ˜šđ˜©đ˜” with Shitty Hair tagging along, because the redhead was actually tolerable to say the least.
The guy respected his mood and space, so Katsuki would allow him to come once in a while. What he didn’t like about Shitty Hair was his constant need to be with others as well, making all the time a bonding time for all.
That meant wanting to invite the extras Pikachu and Soy Sauce Face.

Truthfully, he was glad they didn’t invite Pinky as well, but that was only because she was in her first trimester of pregnancy.
Apparently she was so sensitive at every smell that going to the store guaranteed a vomit-induced day. But then again, these three who were with him were more than enough to ruin his overall mood.

“Two o’clock, near the cereal aisle.” Katsuki heard Pikachu say,
mostly to Soy Sauce Face. He was busy trying to ignore them while picking out tomato sauce, but his curiosity got the best of him, and he took a glance.

It was a tall blonde girl, one with a noticeably curvaceous body since she was wearing a form fitting red dress.
Katsuki clicked his tongue. Typical choice by Pikachu.

Soy Sauce Face took his time staring, looking at the unsuspecting girl from head to toe. “A seven.”
“What the hell? She’s basically a ten! A nine, at the very least.” Denki said incredulously.

Hanta shook his head. “Too much butt. You know I’m more of a tits guy.”
“Right. How about ten o’clock then, the one looking at canned tuna?”

Katsuki couldn’t be bothered with the ogling these extras did whenever they went with him, because he knew that was the only reason they ever did.
And yet, sometimes, he just couldn’t help himself from making observations as well.

This time, it was a redhead, who was a little bit on the short side, judging by the way she struggled to reach for the canned goods she wanted.
She was wearing loose clothing, and her face was mostly concealed by the angle she was in, but Katsuki was feeling nice enough to say that she was okay.

“I’d give her a ten.” Eijirou quipped, smiling that toothy grin of his.
Denki rolled his eyes. “You’re only saying that because she’s a redhead too.”

“Nope!” Eijirou stuffed his hands into his jean pockets. “I think the blonde was a ten too.”
Hanta laughed at his friend. “Of course you do. Everyone’s a ten to you.”

“You bet, because it’s the--”
“--manly thing to say. Yada yada, we get it.” Denki interrupted him. “Or, you’re just scared that Mina will find out you’re rating random chicks and she’ll disown you as the father of her child.”

“Aren’t you scared of what Kyouka would say when she finds out?”
“Not at all. Kyouka and I have a strong bond in marriage and we trust each other. We are secure with each other.” Denki announced to the three of them. “But that doesn’t mean you can tell her about it so yes, please shut the hell up.”
Eijirou and Hanta howled in laughter, making them the focus of everyone in their immediate area’s attention. By now, Katsuki was used to the unwanted attention these three brought him, and over time he has learned how to generally ignore them and pretend to not know them.
He would just continue with his shopping as if he were alone.

“Oh, sure, laugh all you want now, Hanta! I’ll have you know that married life is the best and you’re terribly missing out.” Denki said.
“I don’t know about Ei over there but since she got Mina knocked up, I’m guessing it’s going good for them as well.”

Among their friend group, it came as no surprise when Eijirou proposed to Mina as soon as they got out of school.
They’ve been dating for a long time, albeit on and off, but everyone knew they were just made for each other. The two were literally joined by the hip, and it wasn’t often that one of them weren’t with the other They claimed to be a package deal, take it or leave it,
which meant that boys night mostly meant the boys plus Mina.

Although they did get married in a hurry, they took their time in deciding to add a kid to their family. It wasn’t necessarily a consensus between the two, as one drunken night,
Eijirou cried to Katsuki about wanting a child of his own, but also wanting Mina to succeed in her chosen career first before settling down for good. So when they announced that they were finally expecting, Katsuki couldn’t help but feel happy for his closest friend,
even if he didn’t express it.

Denki and Kyouka were a surprise though. Frankly speaking, no one expected them to get together. Kyouka rarely joined them on nights out, as she is mostly either helping out in her parents’ bar or performing there.
They frequented the said bar, which was how they met Kyouka. Denki of course was smitten, but it was typical of him to notice any girl that would pass off as pretty to him. He was the group’s playboy, after all, but not to the point that he could score dates on a regular basis.
He was just flirty, that’s all.

The two seemed like polar opposites, and yet, in the end, Kyouka seemed to be unable to ignore Denki’s charm. They didn’t take long to date when they decided to elope and tie the knot secretly, much to her parents’ chagrin.
But as Kyouka would say, it was the rock and roll thing to do.

Hanta was typically quiet with his relationships, but mostly because his girlfriends would just come and go. It wasn’t that he was a playboy like Denki,
but because he just had a hard time finding someone who was totally compatible with him. When he met Hado Nejire, he wasn’t automatically attracted to her in an instant, although physically, she was gorgeous. Their age difference, albeit small, was a bit of a concern,
as he had never dated anyone older than him. After getting to know each other more and more, it turned out, she was exactly what he was unknowingly looking for.

Which was good, because..
“Well, actually..” Hanta scratched the back of his neck, his face blushing hard. “I already proposed to Nejire.”

“Holy shit, for real? Congrats, dude!”
“Oh, you’re so whipped!”

Hanta chuckled. “That’s ironic, coming from a married guy, but thanks!”
Katsuki couldn’t help himself from smirking, and although he typically didn’t like to show it, he was happy for the guy. At least, Soy Sauce Face was more tolerable than Pikachu, and he could live with that. He raised a hand and gave Soy Sauce Face a high five.
“I guess that leaves Katsuki as the only bachelor in the squad.” Eijirou said, placing an arm around Katsuki’s shoulder. He glared at Eijirou in response, one that the redhead returned with another grin.
He was busy selecting fish, careful to choose the freshest one for the new recipe he’s trying to make.

“Don’t worry, bro. There’s plenty of fish in the sea. In this case, the store. See anyone to your fancy?” Hanta asked nonchalantly,
as if he hadn’t just announced the biggest news of his life so far.

Katsuki grunted in irritation. He was strongly against joining this conversation.
He heard Denki hum, obviously in search of his next prey. “How about that girl at twelve o’clock? The one looking at vegetables.”

Yet again, Katsuki couldn’t help but glance, and saw a girl with hair of a familiar shade of brown.
Her back was facing him, but from what he could see, she was pleasantly round, and if he was being honest with himself, she reminded him of someone that he didn’t really want to think about. If not for her hair reaching near her bra line,
then maybe he would’ve mistaken it for someone he knew.

When she tilted her head a bit to the left, giving him a slight view of her face, Katsuki felt his heart drop. Hard.
That prompted him to leave his cart and the extras, stomping towards the girl’s direction. The three stared at him in confusion, seeing as he never left his cart during the entire grocery trip. It was Eijirou who followed him as he hid behind the vegetable aisle.
“Bro, what’s wrong?” Eijirou whispered hastily, sensing Katsuki’s distraught aura. He wasn’t prepared for his best friend’s reply.

“It’s Ochako.”
“W-what?” Eijirou looked up to the girl, and true enough, it was indeed Uraraka Ochako. His eyes widened, just in time for Hanta and Denki to follow them. They were surprised to see Ochako too.

The three of them argued over whether or not to approach her,
while Katsuki just marveled at how much she’s changed. How many years has it been? Two or three years? That’s a long time since they last saw each other.

It’s his first time seeing her with long hair, as she used to claim that it made her nape itchy.
He guessed that it was way beyond the length that would irritate her. She wore a bit of makeup now, but what he liked about seeing her now was how her eyes were the same as it used to be.

She seemed to have lost a bit of weight over the years,
but he would always recognize those cheeks even from afar. Ochako was wearing sensible heels, which made him want to chuckle, remembering of the many times she would have a hard time reaching for stuff in high places, but always complaining that heels made her feet hurt.
Katsuki thought the pair she wore were a good enough compromise.

Oh, how much she’s changed. And yet, he could stare at her all day.
Except, Denki had other plans. He got too excited at the sight of an old friend and just couldn’t help himself.

“Ochako!” He shouted. Katsuki tried to stop him, moving to cover his loud mouth, but it was too late.
Ochako’s attention was already caught, and she looked up from the broccoli she was holding.

For the first time in a long while, scarlet met hazel. His heart was beating fast, and his throat felt like it was on fire.
He had to remind himself that he was Bakugou Katsuki, and so, he cleared his throat, letting go (more like shoving) Denki, and approached Ochako slowly. Denki made a move to go with him, but thankfully, Eijirou stopped him.
Ochako still had a surprised look on her face, her eyes wide.

“Hey, Cheeks. How have you been?”
Katsuki could’ve sworn he would punch himself later. Really, that’s the first thing he told her after all these years? First off, why would he call her by that nickname? Why couldn’t he be like any normal being and call her by her real name?
Oh right, it’s because he’s Bakugou Katsuki. He was far from normal.

Second of all, he didn’t know what got to him, asking her how she’s been, given the last time they saw each other..
But that’s already done, and he can longer take it back. Instead, he would just wait for her answer, which he hoped would be positive. Although, he wouldn’t even be surprised if she replied negatively, but having known her,
being a literal ray of sunshine even to people who she despised, then he could at least hope for a good response.

“I’m sorry, but.. do I know you?”
Well, he was clearly not prepared for that reply.

He was so taken aback by what she said that he was left speechless. Katsuki was confused, to say the least, especially when Ochako just smiled apologetically at him.
“I’m sorry if we used to know each other. You see, I was involved in an accident a few years back, so now I have amnesia.” She averted her gaze, clutching her basket full of food tightly. “I’m sorry if I can’t remember you.”

Amnesia? She lost her memory?
But what the fuck, she was in an accident and he didn’t know? Was he in the twilight zone or something?

Katsuki was still at a loss, unable to respond. Ochako looked like she was unsure of what else to say, so instead, she bowed lightly,
motioning to the vegetable she was choosing from earlier. She probably assumed they got the wrong person, or maybe there’s just something wrong with her brain, because as soon as she placed the piece of broccoli she chose, she started walking away, leaving a stunned Katsuki.
He was probably still gaping at where she was when the three idiots finally approached him, bombarding him with questions he didn’t have answers for. Why’d she left? Why didn’t she greet them? What did she tell him?
His mind was becoming more and more disoriented, and he needed some air. And so, he stormed out of the store, leaving his cart and his confused friends behind.

But then again, no one’s mind was as boggled as his at the moment.
