Hi, @trishaobannon . I don't use Twitter anymore, but, when my friend sent me this, I just had to open this account again.

I used to contribute to http://WhenInManila.com  and I'm sorry if it's disappointing for you, but take note contributor work for WIM is purely voluntary.
Working for them is voluntary. Calling dibs on what they want to write about is voluntary. Planning when to have the feature is also voluntary.

Walang pilit na, "write this, get this done by ___, go here today", etc.
WIM works with A LOT (as in a looooooot) of brands. They want to help out small to medium businesses as much as possible, pero syempre their team can only do so much. Kaya to cater all brands as much as possible they started giving opportunities to aspiring writers, photographers
, and videographers. That included me!

* To add, they do articles for these brands FOR FREE, too.

Hindi man bayad monetarily, but holy cow, the connection you make with WIM.

The reach of WIM is incredible and hindi joke yung millions of impressions na nakukuha nila. Kaya naman
Kaya naman sobrang appreciate ko WIM kasi I got connected to soooo many people. The ex-deals are great, yes, but working and getting to know other people who could help you with your future career is already worth it.

It's also a good training ground to hone one's skills that
Can be used as portfolio.

You might think "edi bayaran pa rin nila ang contributors." Pero from WHAT I KNOW, the main people behind WIM wants to properly compensate the heavy workload the staff receive on a daily basis. Seems only fair sa dami ng ginagawa nila.

Plus, walang
Nagrereklamo sakanila (the staff) about being underpaid and stuff. That's why they're all still so motivated to keep the publication going.

Anyway, I could go on and on pero bottomline, I just don't want WIM's name to be tarnished with that kind of remark. It's disappointing. 😃
Opinion mo yan, but this is a fact. I landed my dream job at the moment because of WIM. I'm sure others will feel the same.

Feel free to keep your post or delete it-- up to you. I just hope your 12k followers will hear the truth.

End!
