My problems with #blacklivesmatter (thread)

The narrative is that, if you disagree with BLM, you must think Black Lives DON'T Matter - which is garbage

I think pretty much everyone agrees that racism is bad

So why do so many people hate BLM?

1/
1. BLM are hyperbolic; creating fear and anti-cop sentiment

Their narrative that innocent black men are regularly killed by US cops for no reason isn't supported by any stats

A black man is 23 times more likely to kill himself and just as likely to be struck by lightning

2/
2. BLM lie about incidents

Michael Brown wasn't an innocent, unarmed teen - and his hands weren't up

Forensic evidence and eyewitness testimonies prove he attacked a cop and tried to grab his gun

3/
Similarly, Alton Sterling was wrestling with two cops and went to grab a gun

BLM portray their poster boys as innocent, unarmed angles, when this is miles away from the truth

Cops don't have to wait to get shot before they shoot an offender

4/
When a cop kills a black man, there is always an immediate assumption of racism

Why?

White people get killed by cops too - and at a disproportionately higher rate than blacks (despite the BLM narrative)

5/
Black Lives Matter never ask WHY black people are profiled by cops

Profiling is natural

If I get stung by bees 20 times each year, I would soon become weary of bees and be cautious around them

Young, black males commit an insanely disproportionate level of crime

6/
Black Lives Matter ONLY care about black lives taken by cops (almost always in self-defence)

A black man is 40 times more likely to be killed by another black man than by a cop

50 black people get shot in Chicago each weekend

Yet BLM aren't addressing or protesting that

7/
BLM's victim narrative removes all personal responsibility from black people

It excuses many of them for engaging in a culture that celebrates violence, drugs, crime and single-parent families... 'because slavery' or 'because systematic racism'

/8
At what point do people in black communities look at themselves in the mirror when it comes to tackling things such as unplanned pregnancies (which leads to 70% of black kids growing up in single-parent households... which leads to more black poverty and black crime?

9/
BLM dishonestly spin and cherry-pick statistics to support their narrative

They tell us that blacks are 26% of those killed by cops; but only 13% of the population... but they don't tell us that blacks commit up to 50-60% of all violent crime

10/
BLM claim the US is a 'white supremacist' society, yet the US had a black President for 8 years, and the cops that killed George Floyd have been charged and will likely be jailed (the system works!)

11/
BLM's hyperbolic and dishonest victim narrative, along with their 'ACAB' attitude, has consequences

It leads to dead and injured cops

It leads to black men being scared and resisting arrest - which will lead to more black deaths
