Juneteenth is a couple of days away! On June 19, 1865, enslaved African-Americans in Galveston, TX, were told they were free. Now, 155 years later, people in cities across the U.S. continue to mark the occasion with celebrations. ✊🏾

The day begins at Benedictine HS (2900 MLK Jr. Blvd) with a Freedom Walk to the Art & Soul Park (11802 Buckeye Rd., 44120) where you'll find entertainment, resources and a vendor village until 5p! We will be using precautions for COVID-19 all participants must wear masks. 11am.
Karamu House will honor Juneteenth w/ a new performance titled “Freedom on Juneteenth.” The pre-recorded program will air on Karamu’s Facebook and YouTube channels at 7 p.m. The show will also be streamed on Vimeo, Roku and Fire TV and rebroadcast on WVIZ Ideastream in mid-July.
The Real Black Friday will honor the holiday with a viewing of Bryan Stevenson’s Just Mercy and Ava DuVernay’s 13th, fireworks, food trucks, and more.
