The video link above makes the context clearer, I believe the issues raised are fundamental as a cause of, and in proffering solutions to Nigeria's insecurity problems now and in the future. Hopefully I can learn a lot from your views

The Nigerian constitution guarantees the right to move freely and reside in any part of Nigeria.

However, the constitution fails to recognize the special status of people who hold ancestral ties to a place, and accord them any privileges over people who may have migrated there
The problem is frequently challenged with "everyone is an immigrant somewhere, it only depends on how far back in time you're willing to trace their roots"

This is not the first time a tribe in Nigeria has cried out over what they'd call ethnic domination by settlers/immigrants
There was a Willinks Commission report denouncing the fears of the Efik in Calabar about ethnic domination by Igbos. The report argued that Igbos who owned more businesses, paid more taxes, and their greater role in town administration was justified.
It further argued that traditional land tenure system and the rights of indigenes to own land must not be executed in a manner that would hamper development by would-be investors whether settlers or not.

Later on, Igbos formed an alliance with the Ibibio to undermine the Efik
Scared that the more populous immigrant Igbos and Ibibios would take over Calabar politics just as they had taken over the economy, the indigenous Efik launched violent attacks on the Igbos and Ibibios

..and formed 'sociocultural' groups eg Calabar Youth Movement, Nka Nkaiso etc
In Benin, after eradicating the Ogboni Fraternity (ROF) - the Yoruba proxy group in the Midwest, the Edos via the Owegbe cult, turned their attention to the Igbo new majority who had begun to take political power in Benin following their cousin Osadebay's ascendancy to power.
Edos aligned with the East's NCNC, forming a hybrid faction NCNC-Otu Edo (for Edo indigenes) while NCNC - Pure was for the Igbo tribesmen.

Osadebay's attempt to remove the Otu-Edo title, his residence in Asaba rather than Benin and Igbo rising dominance sparked waves of violence
Here are cut outs from a collection of papers; "Identity Transformation and Identity Politics" edited by Attahiru Jega.

I'll be sharing materials from the Zangon-Kataf crisis and the unanswered ethnicity issues that led to the famous pogrom and instability that remains till date
Zangon Kataf and southern Kaduna conclusions... Draw your inferences.

Next is Wakari and Takum wars between the Jukun, Tiv, Chamba, Hausa and Kuteb, still on ancestral rights, irredentism, lebensraum and living memory
The Taraba situation (cont.)

Battle between the so-called minorities over land, chieftaincy and retention of hegemony in the face of new states creation
In the Tiv situation, the paper agrees that they have a higher birthrate than their neighbours, and this is of particular significance in a democratic and religiously heterogeneous country as ours, what are the failsafes preventing migration, explosion and political hijack?
The recent attacks in southern Kaduna can be traced to these same issues of settlers claiming to have stayed long enough to hold land rights, and in an absolute system as such, the lure for ethnic cleansing from both parties becomes great.
The same sentiments trail the mass migration of the so-called almajiri to the south during the lockdown. The fear that in a few years, they would have bred sufficiently to have a political say in the south while their homelands remain impenetrable
Based on the arguments presented above, isn't it necessary that the country enacts laws designating certain areas as freehold and other areas as reserved for 'indigenes'?

Bulgaria allows foreigners buy buildings but not lands.

Croatia allows you buy, if your country allows them
A more practical solution as found in some countries, is limiting the size of land a non-indigene can buy.

This is not an attempt to curtail the development of any ethnic group, rather a discussion to suggest regulation and forestall crisis.

The anti-settler sentiment is rising
In all the cases I cited in the north and south, Igbos who are the most enterprising of Nigeria's ethnic groups bore the highest losses due to being perceived as oversuccessful

In Barnawa, Kaduna, I learnt that most houses were abandoned by southerners during ethnic crisis
