Founded in 1998, @RefugeeWeek encourages the connection between communities and promotes a welcoming culture through a programme of arts, culture and education. This year’s theme is centred around the word #imagine, encouraging us to step outside of the current moment.
#imagine a future where lives are protected &borders are transcended. #imagine what it is like to leave your family behind &have an uncertain future before you. #imagine solutions, or ways you can change your life in ways to create a more welcoming & safe environment for refugees
CLEAR has been operating since 2001, educating, empowering and advocating for refugees and asylum seekers in the Southampton area. Our ability to deliver these services are reliant on the wonderful individuals and companies that volunteer, donate and fundraise for us.
Thanks to you 2019 saw us welcome 210 new English learners to our classes, complete over 2000 advice appointments and help 30 refugees find employment.
Recently you all raised £1200 for our destitution fund that helped us to support refugees who had lost their jobs or were struggling to afford food due to the Covid-19 outbreak. We are truly grateful for all of your incredible support, especially through this challenging time.
However there is still more work to do! If you feel inspired to make a difference to the lives of refugees why not set up your own fundraiser? Refugee Week is the perfect time to shout about the work we do and help us raise funds to keep our services going.
To help you do this we have put together a new fundraising pack with ideas, tips and advice on how to make your fundraiser as successful as possible!
