I got a one way ticket to visit my sister and my nephews (4 years old and 4 months old, respectively) in Virginia. This is my “Mom Intern” memoir thread

My oldest nephew Micah (aka Bunny) just half woke up to pick his nose and laugh out loud for the second time during this trip

Making food for ya while my sister was out at an appointment. Couldn’t take my foot off this thingy cause if it wasn’t rocking it was a problem. Big bro came to love on him and he was upset about that too

Bunny has eaten about 6 times already since my last tweet. Kids eat so much wtf every two seconds it’s “tía can I have ____ “

What’s good with babies? This one is cranky cause he’s tired, but I’m on lap 73 in my sisters bedroom and instead of sleeping he’s whining and mean mugging... all this complaining without pitching in for ONE bill I-

Putting him down after he falls asleep with me is like diffusing a bomb & if he wakes up after all that EYE will cry lol so I just let him sleep on me, a perk as an “intern”

Mom brain is such a real & wild thing! You legit forget EVERYTHING. I had a great idea and was super excited to tell @pikachuu25 at the top of the stairs. I got downstairs, said “yo kety” she said what, I said “..........I forgot....”

Moms think about soooo much stuff all day. You’re washing clothes, and gotta wash dishes but the baby wants to eat so you can’t. Then you’re like damn my toddler needs lunch. You remember you’re still in pajamas at 12pm and you haven’t washed your hair in days. You forget again

In the midst of feeding the kids and the toddler asking you if y’all can go to Mexico for the 700th time, you don’t hear the washing machine go off. The wet clothes is half dry in there, you remember hrs later after growing a second pair of arms to feed YOURSELF. Gahdamnnnnn

Anyway my nephew read a 2nd grade level book by himself the other night

My left shoulder is only dry after 9:30pm. At all other times, it’s drenched with odee baby spit (aka baba) cause my littles is teething

I have a million and one pet names for Micah. My bunny, my rabbit, my tuti, the love of my life, my doodles, my toodles... let me tell y’all about speaking love into kids

Iight it’s been a minute y’all but back on topic. Speaking love into kids truly works. My nephew says randomly tells us “I love you” about a million times a day. The other day at bedtime he told me I’m the love of his life, cause I always say that to him

Micah cried when I got my Ulta package yesterday cause it wasn’t a present for him damn tía can’t get presents too??!

We took both the kids on our Walmart run today and I promise Micah was talking the entire hour and a half. I was nauseous after a while the quiet game worked for a solid 20 seconds

I’m consistently replying to messages 6/7 hours later these days

Micah now asks me “Do you know know how much I love you?” now, cause that’s the preamble to my 3x daily ‘you’re perfect ilysm’ speech

He always responds “I love you one hundwid” so yeah

Micah loves planets and since he was a baby he’s been inclined toward STEM. He is constantly quizzing everyone about planets and gases and asteroids. So the other day I asked him what he wants to be when he grows up... he said a basketball player????

I was shocked. I asked him “Huh?? Do you even know how to play?” And he said “Yeah, I throw the ball to mommy, she throws it to daddy, and then to you, and —“ The I realized HE WANTS TO PLAY CATCH WHEN HE GROWS UP. C A T C H. Wholesome

I accidentally brushed Micah’s teeth with adult toothpaste the other day. He was wildin but he’s also dramatic (thanks2me) so I brushed it off but he was saying it was burning. I realized & I was like

I wipe his face with wet hands after and he’s like “no, no, no! Tía, why do you do that to me??” Like I’m violating!! I told him I have to clean his face and he G checks me on some “You already did that [during] my bath. I don’t like that.” He’s clearly had it up to here w me

I had the idea to draw this mustache on him w eyeliner so he can look like Mario. He LOVED it, abs tickled pink. So I’m removing it before bed and he starts crying, of course. He said “But tía I neeeeeeed it. I’m going to miss that mustache” hella forlornly I love the drama

Julian (the baby, aka Glazed Donut, aka Marshmallow, aka Honey Bun) also learned a neat lil trick I’ve been trynna teach him. I put my hands out and ask “Do you wanna come” and he always his hands on mine. today he finally pulled himself up!!! 2 cutie

My parents came to pick me up & stay a few days so my sis ran out of pillows. I’m using her pregnancy pillow and now she’s dead on it, it’s coming home with me. They got us thinking it’s just for pregnancy when it’s actually the most heavenly pillow to exist!!!

My nephew said I hurt him when I was drying him after his shower today. I asked how. He said cause I’m so cute.... if he doesn’t stop!!! Lol it’s cause I tell him I love him so much/he’s so cute it hurts

I will forever cherish this time with my sister and nephews. A month and a half later, I came home! Being a mom is hard af! This thread couldn’t cover all the intricacies & special moments. Mom internship complete
